New FIE Licence Requirement
Fencers who wish to apply for an FIE licence must now forward a passport sized photograph in .jpeg format with their application.
If you would like to see why check this picture of Owen from the European Championships in Izmir - and take note, make sure it's a good

New Student Fencing Club
Following a successful demo at the DKIT Freshers day we are pleased to welcome a new group to the world of fencing. DKIT will be meeting
on Mondays 6:30 to 8:00 pm at the sports hall in the main campus building. Special thanks to Aoife, Owen, Matthew and Suzanne who helped

- Essex Open (Foil): Peter McCaffrey 11th out of entry of 120. Gerard Lavin and Patrick Walsh also flew the Irish flag at this one.
- Bristol Open (Foil): Peter McCaffrey 24th out of entry of 157, Martin Cott 26th. (Sabre) Giselle Cullinane unfortunately had to
withdraw due to injury.
- Hamlet Open (Sabre): Kit Rumney, 40 and Daniel Corcoran, 41 out of entry of 99. Hugh Tobin, Steven Myles and Julian Hayes also entered.

Dept of Arts, Sports & Tourism launches new award
The Department of Arts, Sports & Tourism has launched a new scheme to recognise the input of volunteers to sport, from the person who makes
the tea at the competition to the person who coaches teams and clubs week in and week out.. (Details)

Fencing Demonstration
KidEvents are hosting a series of sports workshops for children at Cuala Centre, Hyde Road, Dalkey, on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd September.
There will be a fencing demonstration at 14:45 on Sunday.
