Need to know more?

Q. What is fencing?

A.Fencing is a sport where two competitors use swords to score points (5 or 15) within a set time

Q. I suppose you have to fit to take part?

A. Amazingly enough no, you don't have to have any preset level of fitness to take part. Fencing actually helps to improve your fitness level and stamina.

Q. It's rather elite though, I don't know many people who do it?

A. you'd be amazed. It's not an elite sport, it's a sport for all ages and people and you may just know more fencers than you think.

Q. OK then, so how do I go about starting?

A. Contact us or any of the clubs to find out about traiing or clubs in your vicinity, or indeed the possibility of starting your own club.

Q. I'm joining a club to see what it's like, what do I need to bring?

A. Apart from yourself, wear a tracksuit or similar clothing which allows freedom of movement. After that the club will advise you on what else is needed and will generally have a supply of equipment available until you decide you want to get your own
